R.I.P. Guru 7/17/1961 - 4/19/2010

Hip Hop, is in mourning with the lost of Rap Legend, Guru.
Guru was a Pillar in The Hip Hop Community and will forever be missed!
In memoriam, I highly recommend you go out and buy Jazzmatazz VOL. I- IV... All four of them are DOPE CLASSICS!!! Blast a Guru or Gangstarr joint WHERE EVER YOU GO!!!

Guru may be gone but he will NEVER be forgotten...

Tons of tribute songs, mixtapes, speeches and everything in between has been dedicated to the fallen Star and we will continue to see more rise up. I know tons of youngsters are sitting at home, saying, "who the fuck is Guru" WOE BE UPON YOU! How can you call yourself an inspiring Rap Artist without knowledge of those who laid the blueprint BEFORE YOU.  Most of you were still semen when Guru rocked a Mic and shared a stage with his fellow comrades Solar and DJ Premier.

What it means to be a Builder


We hit the streets the other day!
me and my business partner, Rob, hit up the mall and other stops to pass out flyers to promote the site, it was a beautiful day in Chicago and the energy was high.
The Code Of The Builders is being built as we speak!
We are laying out a Code for what it means to be a Builder (in both The Hip Hop Builders Group and The Hip Hop Dungeon)

For me, being a builder means that I have the duty of teaching the next man and uplifting the minds of the children of the world.

It is my sincere duty to do the work of the people. Here, in The Hip Hop Dungeon we influence you to build -AKA speak your mind and add on to the cypher/discussion and topics we present.
Hip Hop is a culture and a lifestyle that is expressed through various mediums and outlets and takes form in ALL known facets of our lives.
Hip Hop is the soundtrack to the Revolution just as Gospel leads the Churches and Rock N Roll and others are the voices of their crowds. Common knowledge.

What ISN'T common knowledge in the common form of these outlets is the Art and Dedication that goes behind them. I uppercase Art and Dedication, because they are no longer just words or titles, these are now living breathing things, entities.

What validates my opinions? NOTHING, just as nothing is in existence that can facilitate yours. The sanctity of evidence and all needed proof is within the kingdom of the heart. In the heart is the only place where science knows it's existence. If you have done your knowledge you would, too, know that The Heart is where thought originates, not the brain. The Brain is nothing more than a transducer of energy.

Talib Kweli - QUALITY (HIP HOP CLASSIC)


Talib Kweli – Quality (ALBUM REVIEW)

Talib Kweli is an MC who deserves MAD RECOGNITION. He is a true Lyricist, one that is rarely seen. He falls under no category, He is Hip Hop!

Talib Kweli is a master with the pen and his vocabulary is fitting of his many verbal styles. He writes his raps like Poetry; Meter, rhyme, senses. Etc. His metaphors are very witty, causes you to have to think about what he is saying, some songs you might not even understand til a week later. He is highly intelligent. Kweli comes from Brooklyn, New York. Talib has been around for a while and has been seen alongside: Kanye West, Dead Prez, Jay Electronica, J. Cole, Mos Def, Hi-Tek, Common and plenty more!

Today, I wanted to review Quality, first, it's my favorite Kweli Album. Second, it's different! It invokes different moods and settings and themes. But it's ALWAYS Hip Hop. I think Quality is rightfully titled and is a valuable work for Hip Hop.

Keynote Speaker opens the Album, it features Dave Chapelle doing an impersonation of Nelson Mandela. The album is then thrust into full throttle with the hi paced Rush. Rush, attacks your apeakers with beautiful words of making it into the game, fake rappers, writing skills, the music industry and he also speaks of how people view him.

Get By follows it up with a change of pace and adds some flavor to the ride. Get By is a really nice joint and I love this beat and the lyrics, they were made in perfect harmony. Kanye West did the beat.

Shock Body is a nice track, it features a guest vocalist, she sounds beautiful on here and the song is DOPE!

Gun Music... This song touches on deeper subjects, Gun voilence, gun raps, when is it ok to have a gun, when should we really use a gun? TO GET FREEDOM! NEVER TO KILL OUR OWN! He compares his raps to guns, compares guns to rappers. This song is really clever.

Waiting For The DJ is another notable joint, featuring Bilal, it's a cool mashup of different styles.

Joy featuring Mos Def is one of my favorite tracks, it speaks about the Joy of being a father, which I can DEFINITELY relate to, there is no greater feeling in the world!

Talk To You... Sometimes I just put this song on. It's one of those joints you can put on in any mood and it will make you smile. I LOVE IT!!! This gets heavy play from me on the regular.

Guerrilla Monsoon, This song is a BEAST! I love it it features production from Kanye West, and Spitters include: Black Thought, Pharoahe Monch and Talib Kweli. Another GEM.

The album also features DJ Quick, Kendra Ross, Cocoa Brovaz, Res and Novel & Vinia Mojica. The quality of Quality is TOP NOTCH. You never regret a penny spent on this album!

How Black Power Fell Into Despair

How Black Pride Fell Into Despair. A passionate study and call to arms (of The Mind, that is)!



Good morning, evening and afternoon. I, The Hip Hop Poet, had to sit back and think really hard about this report; I want it to be complete and informative.
Black Pride/Power has been lacking since the early 2000s. But it started long before that! It began with all of our Political Leaders! It started with Marcus Garvey, he was the first to bring the Revolution to the minds of Blacks and Africans.

“Our union must know no clime, boundary, or nationality… let us hold together under all climes and in every country… ” - Marcus Garvey

His teachings invoked within the minds of farm workers and other struggling blacks, the need to rise and think with a godly mind. Black Power was finally born in America; of course there were other attempts before Marcus Garvey, like Nat Turner and Harriet Tubman, to name a couple. But, none stuck like how Marcus Garvey did, Marcus Garvey had a plan and a formula. He was known as the National Hero Of Jamaica and his teaching didn't go unheard of abroad, it gave White folks something to FEAR. And that they did!
So much, did the White man hate with a passion what Marcus Garvey was teaching that he sought out to destroy him before he got too big for his own good -as they would have said it.
Garvey read his own Obituary in the Chicago Defender. Not too long afterward, he was poisoned while traveling on a boat. Almost stopping a whole Revolution. He died June 10, 1940.

Let's fast forward twenty some years to Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. the two brilliant yet very dissimilar minds, were pillars in the black communities of America. Martin developing his ideology and formulas in the Church; while Malcolm developed his in The Nation Of Islam and the immaculate teachings of Elijah Muhammad. Little does most of America know, Martin Luther King Jr. was paid by The Kennedy's (commissioned). Many thought or think, of Martin as a sell out, BUT, Martin was not a sell out nor a punk. He had a very peculiar way of teaching, using the Bible to justify his cause. It just didn't work out too well because he failed to teach the true essence of The Bible, namely, that The Bible contains The Complete History, of Black Israelites. Malcolm X DID teach the fact that we were Israelites, but this went unacknowledged.

Black America was beginning to awaken and to discover who self was. They sang glorious songs of Black Power, they marched and demonstrated their cause against White America and how WE WANTED FREEDOM!

Isn't that what Black Power was all about? Bringing about change in how things worked on the ulterior level of Equality and Peace. Gaining The Freedom needed to be a humble man or woman able to carry out our own business and support our families and educate the children?

Isn't that the essential basics of it all?

Black Power gave us an identity to which we did not have before.

When slaves came to America, Their names and spirituality was stripped away from them. Why?

I will gladly tell you why!


The White man went to Africa, this is all planned in The Bible. God placed a curse on Hebrew Israelites that would see them being scattered all around the nations and countries of the world. They would be torn from their families, brought to lands which we know not, on boats. And the first slaves came to America on a slave ship named Jesus. How do we know that WE are the Israelites? I will show you what The Bible showed me (Mind you the white man forbid Blacks from reading and writing and continuing our own religious and spiritual practices. Namely, he kept us AWAY from the Bible)

1.Slavery and captivity

2. Having no power to stand against their enemies

3. Exiled into the Lands of their enemies

4. Scattered among all Nations

5. A very Sick and disease stricken people

6. At the bottom socially with other races high above them

7. Lost the true Knowledge of who they are, and will be called by many scornful nicknames other than Israel or Hebrew (nigger, coon, monkey, porch monkey, jigga boo, spade, blackie, negro, afro- american, etc...)

8. Packed into Prisons and Jails

9. A Non- Prosperous People

10. An oppressed People by their Enemies

11. Very religious and members of all religions


What does all of this mean to Black Power? It is very easy to understand when examining this list of Attributes. We have always had Black Power and Black Pride, but isn't Pride a Sin? Doesn't Pride go against the established Laws in The Torahs? If so, then why do we cling on to Pride like a child to the breast?

Because, we were never given proper education. Schools can only teach us what they want us to know and you must also understand that School is ran by the same people that run The Prison/Penal system. As slaves, we were kept from Knowledge for so long that many forgot who they were, the most intelligent were feared by the white man and were murdered off and used as examples.
Take a look at a Monarch Butterfly, this butterfly gave man the knowledge of genetics in the sense that these butterflies could pass on Knowledge thru genetics. These butterflies were observed to know their way home without being shown the way! Amazing. And, with this knowledge Genetics was taking to the next level, they used fear to reverse the roles of Black Men and Women. The Woman became the Man and the Man became the Woman, so to say. Willie Lynch issued an order in the form of a training manual on how to breed slaves, keep slaves under check and other heinous techniques and strategies. The White Man has focus in the Mind while the “Negro” was engineered to have focus on The Body. We can still see the effects of this act today.

Let's get back to the destruction... shall we?

COINTELPRO was created by The FBI, Jay Edgar Hoover, one the most racist and self centered men to ever walk the earth, created this FBI division of Counter Intelligence. He wanted Black Power, Black Politics, Black Leaders, GONE. COINTELPRO, kept surveillance on Martin Luther King Jr. Malcolm X, Black Panthers and all known Pro Black Groups and organizations, including Musicians, writers, poets, politicians, revolutionaries, Public Speakers, Celebrities and etc.. It was clear that they hated what these black men and women were doing for their communities. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated before giving what could have been the most important speech of his career. Malcolm X was going to expose the system further than he ever did before he was Assassinated.
Huey P. Newton, leader and co founder of The Black Panthers was Assassinated. Assata Shakur was made a Political Prisoner and eventually became a refugee in Political Asylum in Cuba. A plethora of other well known and achieved leaders were assassinated, imprisoned or silenced. Others had their Characters Assassinated to the point where they were no longer credible in the eyes of the people.
COINTELPRO was the devil!
In the wake of Malcolm X's death a group was born, The Last Poets. This politically centered group of Poets sought out to reawaken the Pro Black Movements. People were often scared to conduct Revolutionary business at this point. But, it was crucial to building something solid to call our own. If we allowed them to silence us EVERYTIME we spoke out, we wouldn't have gotten this far.

Everybody, today is at a standstill since Obama has entered office, they honestly believe we have a true leader in him. BULLSHIT!! Presidents are carefully selected. Obama is a tool, a puppet that works for the Government to serve their purpose and agenda and believe me, IT IS NOT FOR THE PEOPLE!
Media will lead us to believe anything and when we are shown and told a lie enough times, we begin to believe these lies and absurdities that saturate the media and otherwise. Propaganda abounds us, we can not turn on the TV without some ad jumping out at us telling us that we need their services and life is so much harder without it. Do we not understand that everything we NEED we already HAVE?!?!

Gangs sprouted up in the mid 70s in Chicago. These gangs sought out to protect their neighborhoods and communities from Police Terrorism. The COINTELPRO infiltrated these gangs and turned them against themselves just as they did the Panthers and others before them!
Music was reborn with the rise of Hip Hop. Rappers spoke about the problems they faced in their communities. Hip Hop was the golden cow needed to bring the people back together. Hip Hop ushered in new movements and we fought the system with bullets in the form of words. Our guns were pencils and we feed them paper like cyanide in a hollow point. We were armed and Dangerous, a bit too dangerous. Public Enemy said FIGHT THE POWER! And WE DID!!!
But, ole big brother was watching the whole time. Trying to figure out it's plan of action to stop it.
When Hip Hop became a hot commodity, COINTELPRO Agents traded in their badges for a suit and a desk job as Label Execs. Check writers. ETC... They had a strict formula for how Hip Hop would be viewed and played. NO BLACK POWER and NO KNOWLEDGE. Which, brings us to where I began. Black Power died in the early 2000s. Lil Jon was one of the first to FUCK THE MINDS OF THE YOUTH. With Anthems like sweat dripping down my balls. Became the only topics that we would hear and see on Radio and Music Videos. True Artists of Hip Hop were forced Underground and their POWERFUL messages were never to be known by the whole world as they could've been; should've been; would've been.

Why did Black Power fall?
Because of the bitch in you that wont stand up for something so you fall for everything.
Why did Black Power fall?
Because you give honors to retarded artists like Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy and you line their pockets with x amount of dollars that go right back into the hands of the Man who fucked us all and stole us from our land!
Why did Black Power fall?
Because Kids today don't give a fuck about principles and rather be dope boys and slap “hoes” and hang on the corner with their pants hanging around their knees.
Why did Black Power fall?
Because you never really cared about yourself or your people to begin with, Life is all about making a buck for you!
You helped destroy the communities as a whole! You gave women the idea that they had to be sluts to make it anywhere in the world. You told children that they weren't worth shit and proved it by not educating them and loving them properly!
You stood by and watched as police brutalized and terrorized neighborhoods. You refuse to pick up a book and you refuse to believe that this system, this Government would never be so harsh as to fuck a whole nation.

You did this!
We did this!
Now we must fight to get it all back. But, remember, Two Bush's and Obama said they will bring in New World Order by 2012. So, How hard will you fight? When will you learn the truth and pass it on to your children? When will you do something about OUR downfall. It takes a Nation!

Q&A with LatinaBeatz



I have a special treat for everybody!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Achs, Achowths, Friends and Enemies... I am pleased to bring to you a Q&A session I had the privilege of having with LatinaBeatz. I caught up with her today and was pleased at how kind she was about the interview coming up on short notice. For those of you who have been sleeping under a rock. LatinaBeatz is a North East L.A. raised Promoter/Publicist for the most AUTHENTIC Hip Hoppers of today! Let's get right to it!

Q: Who are you and what do you do for those who have been sleeping on you?

A: I go by LatinaBeatz, I do not make music. I am a Hip Hop Publicist, I do Artist Management & Consultant work, I also have Promotion and Marketing Services

Q: Could you tell us about some of your clients and how your work influences Hip Hop as a whole?

A: I work for Psycho Realm, Immortal Technique, Chino XL, DJ Khalil & his group The New Royales, Diabolic, Danny Diablo and Eric Bobo to name a Few. My contribution to Hip Hop is that I compliment by using my huge following and networks to keep the Culture Alive, if I'm not spreading the talent of Real Hip Hop, I am often showcasing all the Hip Hop shows that go around in the world, It's very important to keep the definition of Hip Hop alive.

Q: Seems like you got a LOT on your shoulders, how does the current situation in hip hop (i.e. all these young cats using hip hop as a hustle before Art) effect what you do, is it harder?

A: Labels is what makes it harder, Mainstream uses the word Hip Hop to Label everything with a "catchy" hook or a Black guy in baggy clothes. It's annoying but makes me work harder to let people know the difference between Hip Hop and Hip POP. To be labeled Hip Hop is a privilege, not a right

Q: I, indeed, can identify with your answer, I notice a lot of cats calling Hip Pop, Hip Hop. Some even go as hard as to say that Rakim and Nas could never outrap a Lil Wayne or a Lil Scrappy... How do you honestly feel about this labeling, does it seem like something went wrong?

A: It happens in everything, like with the Rock Scene, Punk Scene and even the Blue Grass scene, FM Radio and these huge music Labels need to make their "Artists" versatile with their mind numbing music

Q: What are some influences that got you into Hip Hop, how did you fall in love with the art?

A: I fell in love with the music, the education of Hip Hop. I was raised in the middle of the 90's so, I got the end of the "Golden Era": Krs-1, Wu-Tang, Rakim, etc... They used words in a way that to me- as a writer, made me want to spread this music to the masses. As I got older and was given an oppurtunity to utilize my talent and job in the scene I sought out other artists who are now doing the same, injecting education in their music.

Q: What would you tell somebody who wanted to do what you do on a consistent and successful basis?

A: For one, know your industry. Get yourself aquaninted with who does what and why. Being a Female I would advise all other Females not to date anyone in the scene. There are enough Groupies. My name is clean because I am about my business. This has to be your passion first and foremost, leave the popularity and star struck behaviors at home. Be creative and remember to help the scene for the greater cause, not the selfish cause.

Q: Now there is an answer I have nothing but respect for, which brings me to the next question. How do you feel about females like Kat Stacks, who, is currently using videos and blogs to influence other females to do the same thing she did to get her name out there. What would you like EVERY female to know about Self Respect? (my site centers around Revolution and Authentic Hip Hop, Science is always taken and broken down)

A: I believe you teach people how to treat you. My name is clean because I demand respect. I am about my business, I work for the illest in Hip Hop, they trust me with their careers and rep. Groupies dont get that love because they keep their legs open. If you don't have self respect before you get in the scene, you won't have it after. I'm mad cool with my clients but I do not party or interact with them in any manner that crosses the boundaries.

Q: Some real quick Q's before I let you go, are there any upcoming projects from your clients we should look out for? What is today's mind set? and where do you see this industry in 5 - 10 years?

A: Project wise, Immortal Technique is working on a new album, Psycho Realm is in the studio right now working on another group titled album, which is a big deal. Diabolic just released "Liar & a Thief" this week. I work with tons of underground artists trying to make it, I suggest if you want to hear new artist to check out my website LatinaBeatz.com .
For the 2nd part of your question:
love what I do, I am dabbling in the Modeling world, Im in a Male dominated insutry so having Gorgeous Females fits. I also plan to publish a couple books and really bring the Hip Hop community into my other passions as an Animal and Human/Planet rights activist.

Q: That's what's up! I can dig it all! Any closing words?

A: I want to thank YOU for allowing me to share my experiences and opinions. We need more people like yourself and your blog to help the culture survive and give people a understanding from different perspectives in the industry.

This tape features rehashes of old Reflection Eternal tracks, new songs alleged to be featured on The upcoming project. There is also a couple of Remixes and unreleased demos and what not. This tape is DOPE! I am really digging this, this is what Hip Hop should be like. RE:Union is crawling in Memorable lines, certified Quotables on every song.
The energy of Reflection Eternal is truly made Eternal, proving there is probably no other connection in Hip Hop that can produce authentic Hip Hop with such consistency and taste.
We are reminded of Biggie with the accompaniment of Biggie verses scratched in to the chorus, Biggie is also reflected upon. Hip Hop is ressurected by Talib and Styles P the Ghost, They declare the Thrill is gone but then bring it back with You Can Like Hip Hop Again!
Talib's Multi crazed lyrical escapades are at their best on this tape. No track suffers, every beat is PURE HEAT!
Mos Def, Common and even a joint with both new comers: Jay Electronica and J. Cole, bring their talents tot he table and All features are worthy of being on this project.
I enjoy this Mix Tape and think plenty of MCs and Rappers could learn a WHOLE lot from RE:Uion The Mix Tape. This joint doesn't try to be a Mix Tape or an Album, It is a SOLID WORK! A Work of Art that is indeed PURE.

Shit... I don't really know what to say about it? I am at a lost for words. This cd is TOTAL GARBAGE, GARBO, HOT TRASH, COLD BOOTY!

Here is a track breakdown:
Track 1 - Intro kicks it off, He raps after announcing the title of the CD. Same Flow, Same Style, Same goofyness, same shit!

Track 2 - 15
REPEAT with an occasional drop of a sex song and "stunting" song.

The best song on this CD, is How Low, which has one of those Chicago style beats, which honestly is THE ONLY THING that even made me slightly like this track. It is filled with senseless sexuality, misogynistic overtones and NO DIRECTION!

This album is a solid F!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Erykah Badu - New Amerykah Part II: Return Of The Ankh



With New Amerykah Part II, Erykah Badu has pieced together a beautiful piece of work!

The style of this CD is a bit different than that of New Amerykah Part I. This one is a lot more vibey and laid back. it's more soulful and true to her spirit.
New Amerykah Part I featured a selection of odd joints with upbeat tempos, hyper and distorted vocals, the gamut!
I enjoyed this release, Window Seat is one of my favorite joints!

There are 11 tracks on New Amerykah PART II. It seems she was making more of a Statement with this one, returning to the direction we heard first on Baduizm. Wonder if Jay Electronica has influenced this work?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RELEASE FROM BADU!
There is a well crafted song order filled with soulful grooves, highly reflective.

I give this work an A-... It could have had a tad bit more Action! but it is what it is and she did her thing!

The Enigmatic Jay Electronica is an MC that many Hip Hop Heads were hoping for!
Jay Electronica has released NO albums, he has the oddest style with Mix Tapes (?) like Act I: Eternal Sunshine -where he rapped over the Original SoundTrack(OST) to the film, The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
Jay Electronica has other releases like Attack of The Clones, Style Wars and Scratches & Demo Tape VOLUME I.
Jay Electronica has an amazing Flow that is infused poetically with The Nation Of Gods and Earths' Supreme Mathematics, Supreme Alphabet, The 120 Lessons, The Surahs, Fruits of Islam talk and Revolutionary themes.
Every Hip Hop Head in America and elsewhere are anticipating an album from Jay, The fans are definitely into him and his tracks are only teasers of what we have yet to truly see.
His Wife, Erykah badu, says that even she doesn't know if he will ever drop an album soon.

The Craft Jay Electronica must be working on is most likely DELICATE BUSINESS! nothing to take lightly...

Today, I want to showcase Exhibit C. This Just Blaze produced track, sets a very high bar for a lot of rappers, more namely, southern rappers -in respect to taking more time to produce their work, make your craft unique. Up North rappers are tested too.
Jay speaks on how he was put on to the Supreme Science of The Nations Of Gods and Earths.
Alcohol Addiction was the turning point when he was approached by the NGE and was told to Build or Destory. Jay speaks of 3rd Ward Project living in New Orleans.
Jay speaks with Authority and in many respects he even reminds me of Killah Priest. I truly can not wait to see what he dishes out in the future, Electronica's feature in RE:definition was pretty dope as he rapped alongside Talib Kweli, J. Cole and Mos Def.

BEAUTIFUL BEGINNINGS!!

Ahhh, Such a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! I have been...

I have been with my wife all day today. I woke up at 3AM and went to a job interview -Gotta get get dat paper!- At about 11AM me and my wife,Cari, drove out to Aurora where we went to the Dr's appointment- monthly thing for now until the baby is further along. Everything went well.

We took a stroll through the outlet mall and I spent some time with my pen & pad, I have been preparing for a few releases as of late. I originally was focused on myself alone, but I recently just reconnected with old friends and very talented musicians and we have formed a Hip Hop Force/Group and a Record Label!

By Any Means Necessary as one highly influential political leader told us all.

I was out and about this morning with a couple of my guys and I seen an old white guy riding around bumping some Hip Hop music REALLY LOUD! it sparked up a discussion between me and my guys and here is a report I HAD to do once posing the question!

White Folks and Hip Hop... It is no secret, white people like Hip Hop/ Rap and R&B music, we have known this as common knowledge for decades, if not centuries. But, I never really thought hard about it until today when I seen an old white man blasting his stereo - mind you this was not the Radio that he was listening to, this was full blown rap music with obscene language!

We all know that white girls LOVE Hip Hop and Black Men, evident by walking right on outside. We see the way how Hip Hop influences other cultures. It brings them closer to us, in many aspects. But is it all for the right reasons?

I have been around many Whites who just want to be down with what they see on TV and hear on the radio and they think the shit that rappers speak about is all a fun stroll through the park. TOO MANY WHITE PEOPLE MISS THE POINT OF HIP HOP AS A WHOLE!!!

Hip Hop was and is BIGGER than entertainment! Hip Hop was and is the voice of the people and is in many aspects the nurturer of the People. Hip Hop has taught many children things about life they dont or wont ever find in a book, in school, from their peers and so on and so forth. Hip Hop is an escape from the pain that surrounds you. Hip Hop listens to you just as you listen to it.

With the rise and sudden takeover of all the lame ass corny mainstream propaganda that has flooded our culture almost as sudden as overnight; lots more people are missing the point of Hip Hop EVEN MORE at startling rates. Those who were just beginning to understand Hip Hop have had the glorious opportunity of truly discovering the Art as a whole form of Science, ripped from them by this new advent.

Technology is more advanced these days and people are able to create music like it's nothing, gone are the days when u had to book studio time. Gone are the days when there truly was a such thing as Artist Development. Here, we are, in the days of No Talent punks running things and clouding out the real!

People think Hip Hop is all about killing niggas and getting high!Even WORSE, they believe is all about dancing and having sex!

White folks and Hip Hop is a good thing, if we believe it was all for the good and betterment of Hip Hop as a whole, including bringing Struggle and Revolution under deeper awareness. BUT IT IS NOT! Hip Hop has been raped by White Folks before, which is why she is has been "Pimped out" and Commercialized. WOE TO THOSE DEVILS!!

I appreciate The White Folks who listen to Hip Hop and support it FOR THE CORRECT REASONS!

Only time will tell what their true agenda is, I will remain here exposing it and fighting it off until THE END!!!

This is Dead Prez's debut LP, don't know Dead Prez? DPZ is a duo consisting of M1 and SticMan. The duo met some odd amount of years ago in Tallahassee, FL. The two shared interests in Politics, Revolution and Music and began to write rhymes together that reflected the three respectively; Dead Prez is born. Let's Get Free covers EVERYTHING that should be covered (i.e. The assassinations and mass murder of OUR political Leaders, Fake Rappers and The Music industry, Healthy ways of living etc. etc.)


This Album instilled within me many principles of a warrior and gave many other comrades the critical musical backdrop needed to conduct local community revolutions.
It is exactly ten years from the day this album was released in 2000 and today, this album is still critical. Therefore, it is being resurrected here as one of the single most important album in Hip Hop and our Culture and communities as a whole.


Let's Get Free is equivalent to reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Seize The Time by Bobby Seale, Assata, The Red Book, The Black Panthers Ten Point Program and Eldridge Cleaver's Soul On Ice.
I had the unequivocally special privilige to meet these brothers on several occasions and I am pleased to report that these brothers are indeed REALER THAN REAL! SticMan is a more laid back quiet type and M1 is a pretty talkative dude who even cracks jokes here and there.
Now, that the introduction is out of the way, let's get to it... song for song.




Wolves (Intro)
A haunting string begins to wax and wane thru the speakers as suddenly Wolves begin howling, a voice speaks, that voice is none other than Chairman Omali Yeshitala. The eloquent speaker and chairman of InPDUM (International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement) Omali relates a story of hunting a wolf to the conditions and mind sets of youth in the inner cities. You can feel the chills run up your spine as Chairman Omali speaks. I never listen to this LP without listening to this opening first. IT IS THAT REAL!


I'm a African
Immediately following the Omali speach a rowdy drum beat revs up and blasts off into your eardrums with the all too familiar chant of I'M A AFRICAN I'M A AFRICAN AND I KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING! This song is all about identifying with self, The Knowledge of Self is MOST CRUCIAL! This song, the lyrics, the beat is VICIOUS!!!


They Schools
I know this one all too well as I lived this song in reality. This line from M1 explains it all:
School is like a 12 step brainwash camp/
that make u think if you drop out you aint gotta chance/
to advance in life/
They try to make you pull yo pants up/
students fight the teachers and get took away in handcuffs/
M1 is a precise lyricist as well as his brother Stic, they never beat around the bush with the point and you aren't left waiting for the chorus to hit before you can find out what the song is trying to say; you know it from the very first line!
This song is of utmost importance, our children become prisoners to this system at a vital age in growing and understanding the world, all the way through to the first stages of adolesence. School influences the way we view the world, The Government and other agencies understand this all too well; Infiltration of the school systems began ages ago.
The train us to build up THEIR SYSTEM, THEIR SOCIETY, THEY GET RICHER AS THE POOR GET POORER and we are the builders of that destiny!

Another speech by Chairman Omali opens this critical hit! A slow moaning sample begins to awaken, sfx are heard, this dirty sample leads the drums on and BAM! They hit you Stic Man begins spitting his Mathematics on the Police State we are all trapped in. he begins by boldly saying he'll throw a molotov cocktail thru the window of the Precint.
He continues by orgainizing the hood under IChing banners, exposing hidden cameras installed all over the inner cities and even outside of it. Stic Man is calculated with his verse, He is direct and to the point, he doesn't sugar coat a single line, he is true to his convictions to enlighten you and wake you up.
M1 picks up on the second verse after the chorus summarizes the point they convey thru out. M1 gives his Math about Political Monsters and pretty boy house niggas who are fearful of the system and others who are addicted to this fast life of the American Dream. This track is unforgiving and HARD!

Behind Enemy Lines
Behind Enemy Lines is a metaphor for being locked up, even more, a political prisoner. This song is first about Fred Hampton and Fred Hampton Jr. (Natives of my very own hometown, Chicago, IL) Fred Hampton Senior was Assassinated December 4, 1969 at 4AM, he fell victim to the hands of a dirty pig. R.I.P. FRED HAMPTON, LONG LIVE!

Assassination
Nothing to play with, but, M1 and SticMan GO THERE! A plan of action must be set forth if we want FREEDOM! Dead Prez warn from the bottom of their hearts that we are not even safe with a full clip!

Mind Sex
This song is an example of how a love song SHOULD BE DONE! This song is beautiful and is lead by a guitar gently strumming and plucking soulfully. The drums are very smooth and do not distract you. They lay down honest poetry directed to a love one about getting inside of her mind and having honest conversations before ever taking her to bed. This song is definite JAM! The song is taken out skillfully by The Last Poets' Abiodun Oyewole, who performs a Poem.


We Want freedom
Taken right fromt he Ten Point Program developed by Huey P. Newton and The Black Panthers. Stic begins the track by talking. The track drops.... The bass wangs....The beat and verse Jump Off! Stic Man spits a What IF line about not having water, contaminated Water Supplies, Taking the life of someone you know and love for survival. He concludes by stating he has cousins in the military, but as far as he's concerned, they died when they registered.
M1 is vicious with his verse and spits Epithets on common quotes and sayings and Principles extablished in the Quran, Bible, Nations of Gods and Earths and The BlackPanthers.
This song makes you want to jump up and Revolt or go march on the system. AND FOR GOOD REASON!!

GOTTA LOVE THIS SONG. The Instrumentations is soulfula nd beautiful; The lyrics are Pure hearted and educational! Checkout the chorus, it sums up the whole song!

this begins with a telephone conversation between two comrades, one is trying to get the other to come out for a festival and have fun, while the other says he has things to take care of and priority is principle.
This song doesnt feature any rapping, it does have a cold beat tho and a chorus about discipline, showcasing FULLY the importance of having discipline first, without it we can not accomplish anything.

Psychology This song is in deep need of being studied, line for line! I TRULY LOVE THIS SONG! This song should be required listening in school. The world needs this song! it details and outlines after masterfully laying out the entire psychology behind current events that persist now from ancient times since the establishment of psychology. The song exploits every angle Psychology is used in society!

What doesit mean to be happy? What makes you Happy? Sunchine and beautiful scenery? Building with your elders? Teaching the children? This song is a HIT! LISTEN TO IT NOW!

Animal In ManThis song requires a few listens to truly grasp it's nature and intent. I will leave you to it.

You'll Find A Way A well done orchestration of Hip Hop and Jazz. No Lyrics just listen to the pure beauty of this joint and let the music in it tell you something that will touch your heart with out a shadow of a doubt.

It's Bigger Than Hip Hop This is Part II tot he Critically acclaimed Hip Hop. this song also features co production by Kanye West. A nice joint with some dope features from fellow comrades.

That's all I can say about this. Dead Prez must have been starving when this album was made!


CONCLUSION:
I just thought about the track set up, this is what I got out of it:
the first 16 tracks are bullets in a 45, which there just so happens to be 45 tracks. These 16 are 1+6 which is 7 and these first 16 should be studied diligently and used FIRST IN ALL SITUATIONS!!
If, in a situation of dire importance to life and the people as a whole. Theses 16 can be loaded up into the 45, the 44th track is propaganda, Enlighten yourself to the target. The last track, track 45 is the The Pistol, time for ACTION!
THIS ALBUM IS DEEP AND IMPORTANT TO MAN AS A WHOLE!!!

Delay in Review, V, Analytics, EASTER! (updated 4/5/2010 10:31AM Central USA)

Happy *Easter* Everybody!
Sorry about the delay in review...
 Take note that I said it was the most important Album in Hip Hop History. It's going to take me a slight second to type it all up the way I truly want to. You can expect the review to be posted TODAY.

While I am here I decided to share some things I have found myself getting into as of late; the first being a tv show I have become infatuated with.

      
Is a Television show that Airs on ABC 7, what day? I do not know, I watch this show online -Where I am the programmer of my own schedule.
V is an odd series that was taken from the 1980's program of the same name. The show centers around the lives of the pictured characters; I personally believe the show is a lot like Fringe. The characters are forming a revolution against an Alien invasion. In the very first episode, 29 Alien spaceships arrive over the world's major cities and immediately attempt to set up diplomatic harmonies after sending a multi-lingual "Peace" Message to the world via the spaceship; highly advanced technology indeed.

    I wont spoil too much for those who may have yet to view this show.

A great majority of the scenes are created with expert use of computer graphical imagery. I can truly believe in the set design's sole intent of suspending your belief; I feel like I am really on a spaceship. Some of the more gory stuff even makes you sort of cringe, not to mention THINK. There is a lot of things in this show that I honestly can't even believe to think got there by accident.

   First, being the Reptilian Agenda. Something we should all look into; many Ancient cultures spoke of beasts and reptiles. The Bible has features of Angels, Demons, Reptiles, Beasts and so on -The Devil/Satan/Lucifer, too?

   Second, is the unified government, Human Invasion theme. Haven't these played a part in humanity since the dawn of time? Did God not appear as a "Visitor" of sorts, he came and rose man up from the dirt and breathed life into their bodies. He spoke from the heavens!
 Study this show!

  There are vital elements brought forth in this program as well as in Fringe. The Government has never been pretty.
Google Analytics
I hooked up my Blogger to Google Analytics and I must say that I am impressed with it's features for monitoring traffic and visitors. The dashboard is very nicely laid out, not that I expected anything less from Google products. It features, pie charts and percentages outlining Direct traffic versus Referring sites. Next to that is the Content Overview of all of your pages along with the option to view the full report thereof.
Not only does it include all of this but it also shows users from where the visitors come from, what Browser they used to view your site and what Operating System they used to view your site!!! I am amazed by the complexities of monitoring your website. the features do not stop there! you can set up Goals (i.e. today I expect to hit 5,000 viewers) With Goals, I feel like you can set up to do lists, so to say. and use it to push yourself along and work harder for driving traffic to your pages.
If this was an Album Review I would give Google Analytics an A++

Google Analytics is even deeper now that I have spent a few days with it and understand it more!

    Yes or No and then follows with Percentages and charts thereof.

    Lists WHAT flash version and Percentages and charts thereof.
  • Languages
    I found this to be EXTREMELY DOPE!! You can see what languages your viewers speak, a percentage of how many users speak this language and combinations of different languages your site visitors speak.
  • Content
    This gives you statistics on each individual page of your site and gives you precise calculations on the average amount of time your visitors spent on each page or link on your site.
  • Returning Visitors
    This shows you precise calculations on how many users come back to your site and gives brackets on how many times they have come to your site (i.e. 1 times, 2 times, 3 times, 4 times, 5 times, 6 times, 8 times, 9 times 10- 15 times 15- 30 times etc...)
  • Phones
    This gives a deeper understanding to you on the users that are using Cellphones or smart phones like iPhones, Danger Hiptop, HTC phones and etc etc etc...
  • Map Overlay
    This is a Map that shows you where your visitors come from, you have seen something similar if you ever frequent Myspace. This is cool too, you can literally form strategies on marketing and promoting your site with ALL OF THESE FEATURES. 
A huge up for Google with this one!

Is This Really How Females Are Coming Up These Days???

It's so SAD! But, we have to do this...


Kat Stacks is the topic of this blog, She is reported and even alleges to have slept with the entire Young Money Roster!!! She has an invitation only Blog which she uses to dish out the low down on ALL of the "Celebrities" she has had sexual relations with.
What I want to say: Why do young women feel the need to make a come up in such self degrading ways? Is it really that hard to make it in the world WITHOUT losing your self respect? I can only imagine what her family has to say about this overnight reputation she has garnered?

To all of my Female viewers, PLEASE, and I mean PLEASE, do not follow these wicked ways. We are at a crucial time in history where every move we make not only effects and influences YOUR future but OUR future as a community and as a unified body of people.

Now Trending....Is Hip Hop destroying the youth?

This is a VERY special Blog. I want to explore a highly misunderstood topic that, quite frankly, is in dire need of being explored. First, let's play the numbers game:

***After studying 522 black girls between the ages of 14 and 18 from non-urban, lower socioeconomic neighborhoods, researchers found that compared to those who never or rarely watched these videos, the girls who viewed these gangsta videos for at least 14 hours per week were far more likely to practice numerous destructive behaviors. Over the course of the one-year study, they were:

* Three times more likely to hit a teacher
* Over 2.5 times more likely to get arrested
* Twice as likely to have multiple sexual partners
* 1.5 times more likely to get a sexually transmitted disease, use drugs, or drink alcohol.

"What is particularly alarming about our findings is that we didn't find an association with just violence or one or two risky behaviors," says researcher Ralph J. DiClemente, PhD, of Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. "We found an association with a string of these behaviors."


Quite startling, if you ask me. After reading this report - among others- I shifted my attention to what is going on in the world, not just Music. Let me tell you. I noticed things I never did before. little Kids ranging from ages 4 to 15 actually walk around PROMOTING these "Artists" we are over subjected to; The foulest, most sexist and down right ignorant "Choruses" these kids were repeating was unlike anything I had ever witnessed before. These children chanted "Oh Let's Do It" "My Humps" "Tik Tok" "Successful" "The Brain" and even more! I was SHOCKED!

Another thing I noticed is the roles have shifted in the family structure; parents are no longer parents. Their children seem to pretty much act like the parent as the true parent stands by and allows destruction to be sown before their very eyes. They attack their parents, call their parents out of name; Sex is only the tip of the iceberg.

I thought to myself: Are these carefully planned plots made in whole by The Governments Counter Revolutionary branches? Are we really purposefully being dumbed down to serve someone else's sick agenda?
My search found me scouring through Books, Rap CDs, Websites and even Youtube! I was desperate for answers, AND I FOUND THEM!

After viewing that video(Hopefully you checked out the subsequent videos), we can begin to understand a little better how music is shifted from being FOR THE PEOPLE to being AGAINST THE PEOPLE!!!
Far too many people overlook the importance of Symbols in our daily living and how Symbols can and DO influence how we think/feel. Don't think it's real? think about the golden arches of McDonalds, that very simple symbol is enough to make one suddenly think, I WANT FOOD, McDonalds sounds good, etc. etc... I could get VERY DEEP into the subject of symbols, but we won't do so in this post.

Hip Hop, once sang odes of revolution. Groups like Public Enemy were once at the forefront of Hip Hop and right around the time the Rodney King beatings happened the people had Public Enemy on the radio and it inspired revolutions and even riots. Later artists like Tupac spoke frankly about the way music was being raped and even went as far as to declare himself Don Killuminati (which means The Don of Killing The Illuminati) Still think I'm bluffing?
We could get into the deaths of our leaders too if we wanted to truly exploit this topic; but if I did all the work for you then how would you be inspired to study further into the subjects? Therefore, I will leave that up to you to get deeper in to it.

How many of you have heard of Professor Griff and The Black Dot? I think it's about time for another vid:


this vid seems to spell out what else is going on. The Black Dot is one of the most spiritual teachers in Hip Hop. Confusion is the main point of the above video, this is what is destroying our youth, CONFUSION!

Wocka Flocka Flame a talentless so called "artist" stated "MCs with lyrics aint go not money" We all know it is a HUGE problem when MCs are coming out saying that they don't have no rhymes, these same MCs are mentally destroying the youth with their talentless chant music and oversexed music videos. As you saw in my Jay-Z Reasonable Doubt REVIEW Jay-Z used to be a lyrical dude and was able to sell records being a Lyrical MC. Today's Jay-Z doesn't even sound like he tries anymore... Isn't it a veterans duty to ensure the art remains pure? Why do we see so many veterans turning their backs on the true craft of the art in exchange for money? Why do we see these so called vets exploiting the current generation and sowing confusion and chaos in their minds?

Hip Hop is in many ways destroying the youth, but Hip Hop doesn't hold the sole blame for this! It's our problem as well. We sat back and watched as all these talentless Brainwashing drones took over the game and morphed it so many times that we can barely even recognize Hip Hop anymore.
I hear them talking, they went as far as to say Lil Wayne is a better lyricist than NaS! Believe it or not they even said Canibus was one of the weakest MCs in Hip Hop History! FOOLS!!! FOOLS!

The answer to the questions I have posed our within the mind. Once we recognize we are the true holders of power - even as stated in The Constitutional Bill Of Rights - then we can all come together and make the difference OR we can continue to let such things as The Patriot Act and Controlled Media decide how things go for us!
